Colored diamonds contain impurities from other elements as well as structural irregularities, while “pure” diamonds are transparent and colorless. For instance, nitrogen is the smallest impurity in diamonds as well as the most frequent. It causes the yellow or brown color in some diamonds, depending on its amount.

Boron causes the blue grey color in diamonds, and irradiation from alpha particles cause a green hue. Plastic deformation, a physical irregularity in diamonds, can be the cause of brown diamonds or pink and red diamonds on rare occasions.

Grinding tools are essential materials that you often associate with metals and wood. It’s an accessory material you may use in preparation for welding metals. As a die grinder operator, it is important that you have a strong grip over the said material. It may be small as compared to a bench grinder, but it possesses a strong power as it could easily cut through metals. The die grinder may be dangerous for you if you hold it improperly.

There are certain precautions and things to consider and prepare for before you may operate a die grinder. This is to ensure that you can get through the whole process of using it without harming yourself or anybody. Before you grab the gadget, make sure that you are well protected from any debris that may fly out. Wear safety goggles to protect your eyes from small debris, and protective clothing that will shield your body. You may also opt to wear protective gloves if you firmly believe that you will need protection for your hands.

As soon as you finished preparing your protective gear, its time you secure your project next. Make sure that they will not move as you use your die grinder on them. Simply holding them down with your hand is insufficient and might even be dangerous, so it is better if you attach them to a safe place temporarily – at least until you finish your project.

You may need a spindle lock wrench in order to open the part of the die grinder where you may insert grinding bits called the collet.
